Biblical Humility & Spiritual Revival

Thought for Meditation

Biblical humility is absolutely necessary for spiritual revival.
Indeed, the ground of spiritual revival is the ground of Biblical humility;
and the ground of Biblical humility is the ground of spiritual revival.
Without Biblical humility an individual cannot enter into the path of spiritual revival;
and when an individual turns aside from Biblical humility,
his progress along the path of spiritual revival will be lost.

(Note:  This "Thought for Meditation" presents the Biblical principle that serves as the premise for my book,
"The Spirit of Revival - A Contrite and Humble Spirit."
If you are interested in the matter of spiritual revival, this book may be of value to you.)

James 4:8-10
Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you.
Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.

Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep:
let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.
Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up
.

Isaiah 57:15
For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy;
I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit,
to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones
.

Psalm 51:16-17
For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering.
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit:
a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise
.

2 Chronicles 7:14
If my people, which are called by my name,
shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways;
then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land
.

Isaiah 66:2
For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the LORD:
but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit,
and trembleth at my word
.
