“Praise ye the LORD.”

“Praise ye the LORD.”

  I.  The Commitment of the Lord’s Servant.

      Psalm 146:1-2 – “Praise the LORD, O my soul.  While I live will I praise the LORD: I will sing praises unto my
      God while I have any being.”

 II.  The Counsel of the Lord’s Servant.

      Psalm 146:3-4 – “Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help.  His breath
      goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish.”

III.  The Consequence of Trusting the Lord.

      Psalm 146:5 – “Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the LORD his God.”

IV.  The Cause for Trusting the Lord.

      1.  Because He Is the Almighty Creator.

           Psalm 146:6a – “Which made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all that therein is.” 

      2.  Because He Is Eternally Righteous and Faithful.

           Psalm 146:6b – “Which keepeth truth for ever.”

      3.  Because He Executes Righteous Judgment.

           Psalm 146:7a – “Which executeth judgment for the oppressed.”

      4.  Because He Provides for the Needy.

           Psalm 146:7b – “Which giveth food to the hungry.”

      5.  Because He Delivers in Abundant Mercy.

           Psalm 146:7c – 8b – “The LORD looseth the prisoners: the LORD openeth the eyes of the blind: the
           LORD raiseth them that are bowed down.”

           Psalm 146:9a-b – “The LORD preserveth the strangers; he relieveth the fatherless and widow.”

      6.  Because He Loves and Cares for the Righteous.

           Psalm 146:8c – “The LORD loveth the righteous.”

      7.  Because He Punishes the Wicked.

           Psalm 146:9c – “But the way of the wicked he turneth upside down.

      8.  Because He Is the Absolute Sovereign.

           Psalm 146:10 – “The LORD shall reign for ever, even thy God, O Zion, unto all generations.”

“Praise ye the LORD.”
