Psalm 84:1-4 – How amiable are thy tabernacles, O LORD of hosts! My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the LORD: my heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God. 1. To bring honor unto the Lord.
Psalm 26:8 – LORD, I have loved the habitation of thy house, and the place where thine honour dwelleth.
2. To behold the glory of the Lord.
Psalm 27:4 – One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple.
3. To bolster our fellowship with the Lord.
Psalm 84:2 – My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the LORD: my heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God.
4. To back up our priority in the Lord.
Psalm 84:10 – For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.
5. To bestow service for the Lord.

6. To build up our separation from wickedness.

7. To broaden our understanding of the truth.
1 Timothy 3:15 – But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.
