Thought for Meditation
Many claim that we must become more appealing to this present world,
in order that we might be more able to reach this present world.
Yet when we become more appealing to this present world,
we become less appealing to the Lord our God;
and thereby we become less useful to Him in His service for His glory.
Many claim that we must become more appealing to this present world,
in order that we might be more able to reach this present world.
Yet when we become more appealing to this present world,
we become less appealing to the Lord our God;
and thereby we become less useful to Him in His service for His glory.
2 Timothy 2:20-22
But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver,
but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.
If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour,
sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work.
Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace,
with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
James 4:4
Ye adulterers and adulteresses,
know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God?
Whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
Matthew 5:13-16
Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted?
It is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick;
and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works,
and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
