Thought for Meditation
Is the gift of eternal salvation free or costly?
Certainly, according to the truth and teaching of God's Holy Word,
we should recognize that the gift of eternal salvation is free unto all who trust Christ.
Yet we should also remember that this gift was abundantly costly
for our Lord Jesus Christ to provide so freely unto us believers.

Isaiah 53:5-6
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities:
the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way;
and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
1 Peter 1:18-19
Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;
but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.
1 Peter 2:24
Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree,
that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness:
by whose stripes ye were healed.
Galatians 3:13
Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us:
for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree.
Philippians 2:6-8
Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
but made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant,
and was made in the likeness of men: and being found in fashion as a man,
he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
2 Corinthians 8:9
For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich,
yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.
